This beautiful old stone farmhouse Just oozes character with its old beams, stone arches and barrel ceilings. Situated just 5 minutes from Ceret, where Picasso sojourned for some years, and where the Musee d'Art Moderne houses a permanent exhibition of some of his paintings, it is just half an hour from Collioure and the Mediterranean & 45 mins from the Costa Brava, making it the ideal location for a most interesting and versatile holiday.

Situated at the gateway to the Vallespir - a region of outstanding natural beauty - it is also a nature lovers' paradise with the most wonderful variety of birds, butterflies, and wildflowers in springtime; a place where mountains tumble down to greet the sea.

For walkers & climbers, the Pyrenees are on our doorstep (the GR10 is closeby), and for those interested in history and culture, the Vallespir has much to offer with its Romanesque architecture, ancient cloisters & templar castles. You can, of course, just stroll through Ceret's Saturday market, or drink coffee and watch the world go by

The comfortable and individual apartments have private terraces & barbecues. There is a large secure pool with sun loungers & a pretty, informal garden with tables and chairs for dining; summer kitchen with table tennis, and access to the surrounding hills of cork oak, vines and cherry orchards via a small stream close to the house. In its idyllic setting Mas Pallares can provide that ideal family summer venue, as well as an off-peak romantic break, away from the stresses of everyday life.

Each apartment is of individual style but all have a comfortable sitting room, kitchen, dining area, 1 - 3 bedrooms & shower room or bathroom with wc. TV (optional) & wifi internet access

Bed & Breakfast is available at Mas Pallares during off-peak periods. The Acacia Room and Mimosa Suite offer lovely accommodation with private balcony looking out over the surrounding hills and valley beyond. Breakfast is served on your private balcony or in the breakfast room or Grande Terrasse.

There is much of interest in the general area, suiting a wide variety of tastes. These include the various coastal pursuits such as sailing, windsurfing and diving, or inland climbing or trekking, birdwatching, winetasting, or perhaps just relaxing and enjoying the outstanding natural beauty of the area. For the more serious amongst us, exploring the rich cultural history of the Vallespir should prove a fascinating pursuit.
