Attractions Should you be interested in flora and fauna, we have them in abundance. There are Buzzards, Kestrels, Hoopoes, Woodpeckers, Barn Owls and many more to be seen.
The bastide town of Eymet with a good range of shops and restaurants is 6km away which has a farmers market every Thursday morning and in July and August a weekly night market (Tuesday). Your morning croissants can be bought from the boulangerie in Fonroque which is 2km away.
From Le Roudier you can visit the chateaux and bastides of the western Dordogne region, the vineyards of Bergerac and St Emilion and the many attractiopns of the central Dordogne and Vezere valleys are within an hour's drive.
The closest airport is Bergerac only a 20 minute drive. Other airports include Bordeaux 1.5 hours and Toulouse 2 hours.
There are numerous golf courses in the area, one of which is the famous Chateau Vigiers Golf Club a mere 20 minute drive. Other activities include lakes for windsurfing plus canoing and fishing on the Dordogne, tennis in Eymet and horse riding in Sadilac mean there are plenty of outdoor activities.
Bergerac is a lovely old town with good restaurants and shops, together with a lively and varied cultural programme. Local produce is abundant in restaurants which range from farmhouse hospitality to haute cuisine and the lively local markets make shopping a pleasure. At Le Roudier one will find a fenced heated swimming pool, separate children's play area, bikes, table tennis, boules, badminton, birdwatching. Local activties include, wonderful restaurants, wine tasting, golf, water sports, horse riding, go-karting, pre-historic caves to name but a few.
