Le Bois de Guinot is a tastefully restored Perigordian barn with original features. Set on the edge of our own woodland, within the triangle of Sarlat, Montignac and Les Eyzies between the rivers Dordogne and Vezere.
A perfect location for two where you can experience the beauty and tranquillity of rural France.

The cottage is on two levels, the living area on the slightly higher level comprises cuisine, dining area and comfortable sitting area. All furniture is quality Ercol with two seater setee, two arm chairs and coffee table; the dining area has a dining table and four chairs, sideboard and 'welsh' dresser. There is an electric 'woodburner' effect fire in this area.
In the cuisine area there is a white stone sink unit, gas cooker, washing machine, 'fridge and microwave.
The bedroom is reached by three steps down from the living area. The hand made country pine furniture consists of a feature double bed, two bedside cabinets, and a large wardrobe. There is a shower room en-suite with a corner shower unit, wash basin, toilet and heated towel rail.

Attractions

This is an area known for the wide variety of flora and fauna. You can see an amazing number of birds and wildlife by just sitting in the garden!
There are countless chateaux, gardens and prehistoric sites to visit within a short distance.
For the more active the area is ideal for walking, cycling and horseriding. Both the rivers Dordogne and Vezere provide canoeing facilities. The large lake at Tamnies, just 3 kms away, provides for swimming and fishing.
We are both keen cyclists and can advise on the many varied routes to suit cyclists of all abilities. An excellent local cycle hire company can deliver bikes to the cottage.

Directions

Bergerac airport with flights from Ryanair and Flybe is within an hour and half away. Limoges, also Ryanair, is two hours drive and Toulouse with connections worldwide is within three hours.
The road journey from the north of France from any of the Channel ports can be varied depending on your time schedule, and advice can be given. Driving in France is generally more relaxed due to the lack of traffic in rural areas.
